A one-day workshop was organized at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh by the Regional Resource Training Centre (RRTC) for Senior Citizens, Mission Foundation Movement
Objectives:
To discuss the social, psychological, and health challenges faced by elderly persons.
To promote community-based care and intergenerational bonding.
To encourage active aging and mental well-being through awareness and engagement.
Participants:
Around 30 participants attended, including elderly persons, staff, volunteers, and NGO representatives.
Outcomes:
Improved awareness of elderly rights and welfare provisions.
Strengthened commitment from youth and volunteers to support the aged.
Identification of potential collaborations between NGOs and government departments.
Encouragement for the elderly to remain socially active and mentally positive.
Conclusion:
The workshop effectively raised awareness about elderly issues, fostered mutual understanding between generations, and reaffirmed society’s duty to care for and respect senior citizens.
