A One Day Capacity Building Programme for staff of NGOs and senior citizen homes on PFMS, Documentation, e-Anudaan, Proposal Development, Resource Augmentation, Fund Raising, and Institutional Linkages was successfully conducted on 3rd March 2026 at MUP Run, Bazar Veng, Serchhip, Mizoram. The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing the knowledge and skills of personnel engaged in the management and implementation of social welfare programmes, particularly those serving senior citizens.

The programme commenced with an introductory session emphasizing the importance of effective financial management, proper documentation, and sustainable resource mobilization for the successful functioning of NGOs and senior citizen homes. Participants were sensitized to the need for transparency, accountability, and compliance with government guidelines in programme implementation.

The technical sessions covered key aspects of the Public Financial Management System (PFMS), including fund tracking, reporting requirements, and financial accountability. Participants also received practical guidance on maintaining records and documentation essential for efficient organizational management. A dedicated session on the e-Anudaan portal provided hands-on information regarding online grant applications, profile updating, and monitoring of submitted proposals.

The programme further focused on proposal development and project planning, enabling participants to understand the process of preparing effective project proposals, developing realistic budgets, and identifying measurable outcomes. Sessions on resource augmentation and fund raising highlighted various opportunities for mobilizing financial and non-financial resources through government schemes, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and community participation. The importance of building strong institutional linkages with government departments, healthcare institutions, and community organizations was also discussed.

The participants actively engaged in discussions and experience-sharing sessions, making the programme highly interactive and beneficial. The training enhanced their understanding of financial procedures, documentation practices, project development, and networking strategies.

The programme concluded with a feedback session, during which participants expressed appreciation for the practical knowledge gained and its relevance to their day-to-day responsibilities. Overall, the programme was successful in strengthening the capacity of NGO personnel and promoting effective management practices for the welfare of senior citizens and other vulnerable groups.
