CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL SENIOR CITIZEN DAY AT OKHREY SHERPA BHAWAN

Observed the day at Okhrey choose the programme venue in out reached area because the public or senior citizen not covered on the day of screening EYE CAMP on June 25held at Soreng. Consulted with BDO Sir and Honble Panchayat of Okhrey GPU.Consulted the DRCHO of District Hospital Gyalshing for NCD screening and EYE Screening by LIONS CLUB SILIGURI.
So their positive response, invited the senior citizens of SAPREY NAGI and RIBDI BHARENG GPU .There were more than 100 Senior citizen was attended the said programme.

TOTAL 123 OLDER PERSONS SCREENED FOR NCD
TOTAL 105 OLDER PERSONS SCREENED FOR EYE AND TOTAL 17 WERE FOUND FOR SURGERY OF CATARACT OUT OF 15/1 PERSONS HAVE EXTRA GROWTH ON EYE AND 1 IS BLOCKED TUBE.
The programme was graced by Honble Panchayat and all members of Okhrey GPUs,oldest person of the area aged 93 years, and BDO of Daramdin Block Mr Ongdi Sherpa.The programme agenda and schemes of NSAP was delivered by SWI Mr Hissey Sherpa and the overall celebration and on theme “OLDER PERSONS DRIVING LOCAL AND GLOBAL ACTION OUR
ASPIRATIONS, OUR WELLBEING, OUR RIGHTS” was insights by DNO cum CDPO Mrs Gouri Tamang of Soreng District. BDO of Daramdin also expressed his views on the programme, he emphasised on caring, helping and love to Older persons. The successfully concluded by handing over 50 nos of warm blankets and warm Dunlop cover to aged above 70 years.
