Elderline Gujarat Awareness Programme – Senior Citizens Group Morbi
Elderline Gujarat, in collaboration with the Senior Citizens Association (SCA), Morbi, successfully organized an awareness programme on 3rd August 2026 at Dhanvantri Bhawan, Morbi.
The programme aimed to create awareness among senior citizens about their rights, welfare measures, and the support services available to them. During the session, participants were provided detailed information on 10 important government schemes designed for the welfare and empowerment of senior citizens. The benefits, eligibility criteria, and application process for each scheme were explained to help participants access these services effectively.
A special session was conducted on the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, highlighting its importance in protecting the rights and dignity of senior citizens. The discussion covered the legal provisions available under the Act, the responsibility of children and relatives towards elderly parents, and the remedies available for senior citizens seeking maintenance and support.
The interactive session encouraged participants to raise their queries, which were addressed by the resource persons. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reinforcing Elderline Gujarat’s commitment to ensuring that every senior citizen is informed about their rights and has access to the necessary support and assistance through the Elder Helpline 14567.
