Block-level orientation and awareness programmes were organized to strengthen understanding among frontline workers, PRI representatives, community stakeholders, and local institutions regarding issues related to senior citizens and their welfare. The programmes focused on enhancing awareness about welfare schemes, social security provisions, digital literacy, financial literacy, and the importance of community support systems for elderly citizens.
It contributed significantly towards improving awareness among participants regarding digital and financial literacy among senior citizens. The digital literacy sessions enhanced participants’ understanding of basic mobile phone operations, use of communication applications, and safe digital practices. Senior citizens became more aware regarding precautions related to cyber fraud, fake calls, suspicious links, and misuse of personal and financial information.
