The Centenary Celebration Committee of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar headed by the then Prime Minister of India decided to set up Dr. Ambedkar Foundation to carry out the programmes and activities for furthering of Dr Ambedkar’s ideology and spread his message of social justice to the masses not only in the country but also abroad.

About the Foundation

DAF was Set up on 24th March 1992 on the recommendations of the Centenary Celebrations Committee headed by the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, to implement the programmes and activities for furthering the ideology and message of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar among the masses in India as well as abroad along with the mandate to manage, administer and carry on the important and long-term schemes and programmes identified during the Centenary Celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

A Society set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, registered under the Registration of Societies Act, 1860.
Also registered as a charitable institution U/S 12(A) and 80(G) of Income Tax Act. Fully funded by the Government of India.

Vision

To promote the ideology and message of BharatRatna Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar among the masses in India as well as abroad.

Mission

To promote BharatRatna Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s ideology and philosophy among the masses in India and abroad by administrating Schemes and Programmes which emanated from the Centenary Celebration Committee’s recommendations

Leadership & Organisation

The Foundation comprises a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and other Members supported by a Secretariat and specialised wings (schemes & programmes for the welfare of SCs/STs,OBCs and marginalised section of the society).

National Initiatives & Schemes

Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), located at 15 Janpath, New Delhi, is a premier autonomous organization under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on 14th April, 1891 at Mhow, near Indore in the then Central Province, now Madhya Pradesh.

Publications

Dr. Ambedkar Foundation’s Magazine ‘Samajik Nyay Sandesh’ was started in the year 2002 to spread the message and philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar aimed at making India an egalitarian society. Samajik Nyay Sandesh has been the publication of Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justic and Empowerment devoted to upholding the values cherished by Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar. This Magazine was being published by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) so far. Now that the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre(DAIC) has been established as the intellectual wing of Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, it’s publications will therefore be managed by DAIC.

Collected Works of Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar (CWBA) Project in Hindi and other Regional Languages.

Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) since its inception in 1992 and in pursuance of its main objectives of, inter alia, implementation of programmes and activities for furthering the ideology and message of Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar among the masses in India as well as abroad has embarked on the scheme of translation and publication of CWBA in Hindi, English and other regional languages.

The above Volumes in English (many Volumes have several parts) have been further divided and published into 40 Volumes in Hindi and other regional languages in order to make them reader friendly.
